After a COVID hiatus, we’re excited to reignite GPGNYC’s 24-hour Community Food Scrap Drop-Off Initiative. Drop your compostable organic materials into our composting bin on the East River Esplanade, located beneath the 63rd Street ramp.

We accept the following materials for composting: 

• Fruit and vegetable scraps
• Eggshells 
• Coffee grounds 
• Coffee filters
• Tea bags
• Loose leaf tea 
• Avocado pits 

Finished compost is put to use not only in the GPGNYC native garden but also in gardens across the Upper East Side.
